The Flame of Hope was lit yesterday at Zapeion for the 8 th International Winter Games Special Olympics, which will take place in Nagano Japan . This great event, gloriously celebrated its Anniversary of Maturity of the Special Olympics in Greece at the King George Hotel two nights ago.

The benefactors, sponsors and supporters who participated in the programme « Invest in Life » were honoured for giving gratification and hope to 6.500 Greek Athletes who are trained by 800 volunteers in 26 Spring and Winter sports.

The Prime minister and his wife were honoured for all their continuous support in the Special Olympics (but were unable to accept the award due to a death in the family so minister Pavlopoulos accepted it on their behalf.)
